Operativsystemets fönster visar konsolfönstret och konsolfönstret visar en del av skärmbufferten. Metoden SetWindowPosition påverkar konsolfönstrets position i förhållande till skärmbufferten, men påverkar inte operativsystemets position i förhållande till skrivbordet.
Konsol- och operativsystemsfönstren påverkar vanligtvis inte varandra. Men om skärmbufferten inte kan visas i konsolfönstrets aktuella gränser lägger operativsystemet automatiskt till rullningslister i operativsystemets fönster. I så fall påverkar rullningslisterna för operativsystemets fönster positionen för konsolfönstret, och om du flyttar konsolfönstret med SetWindowPosition metoden påverkas rullningslisterna för operativsystemets fönster.
