Opmerkingen

Deze constructor rondt value af op 15 significante cijfers met afronding naar het dichtstbijzijnde. Dit gebeurt zelfs als het getal meer dan 15 cijfers heeft en de minder significante cijfers nul zijn.

De binaire weergave van een Decimal getal bestaat uit een 1-bits teken, een 96-bits geheel getal en een schaalfactor die wordt gebruikt om het gehele getal te delen en op te geven welk gedeelte hiervan een decimale breuk is. De schaalfactor is impliciet het getal 10, verhoogd tot een exponent van 0 tot 28.

bits is een matrix met vier elementen van 32-bits ondertekende gehele getallen.

bits [0], bits [1] en bits [2] bevatten het lage, middelste en hoge 32 bits van het 96-bits gehele getal.

bits [3] bevat de schaalfactor en het teken en bestaat uit de volgende onderdelen:
