Thank you for sharing the screenshot.

That message usually appears when Microsoft Family Safety is enabled on the Microsoft account being used in Microsoft Edge.

Even if you are the owner of the computer, the account may still be added as a child in a Microsoft family group, which causes websites to require permission.

    Please check these:

    • Open this page: https://family.microsoft.com
    • Sign in with the same Microsoft account used in Edge.
    • Check if your account is listed as a child in a family group.

If it is, the family organizer will need to either:

    • Approve the website, or
    • Remove the account from the child role.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. What browser are you using when the message appears? (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
    2. What exactly does the permission message say? If possible, please share the full wording.
    3. Is this a personal computer, or is it managed by a work or school account?
    4. Did this start happening recently after a Windows update or browser update?

If you can also share a screenshot of the pop-up, that would help identify what is requesting the permission.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

The permission pop-up is typically caused either by Edge’s pop-up blocker or by site-notification/redirect settings. Adjusting these usually stops the repeated prompts.

Try the following in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10:

    1. Ensure normal pop-ups are allowed for that site
      1. Open Edge.
      2. Select Settings and more (… ) > Settings.
      3. Go to Privacy, search, and services.
      4. Select Site permissions > All permissions > Pop-ups and redirects.
      5. Under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, select Add site.
      6. Enter the website URL (starting with https://) and select Add. This lets that specific site open its pop-ups without asking every time.
    2. If the pop-up is about general blocking, confirm the blocker setting
      1. In Edge, go to Settings and more (… ) > Settings.
      2. Select Privacy, search, and services.
      3. Go to Site permissions > All permissions > Pop-ups and redirects.
      4. Make sure Blocked (recommended) is turned on so only sites on the allow list can open pop-ups.
    3. If the pop-up is actually a fake security/virus alert These often appear as full-screen pages claiming the PC is infected and asking to call a number or grant remote access.
      • Close the browser tab or window (use Alt+F4 or Ctrl+Shift+Esc → end the browser task if needed).
      • Do not call any phone number shown.
      • Clear the browser cache and consider enabling an ad blocker extension to reduce malicious ads.

If the message is about Copilot needing permission to act on a site (for example, when using Copilot Actions in Edge):

    1. Adjust Copilot permissions
      1. In Edge, go to Settings > AI innovations.
      2. Choose a security level:
        • Balanced (recommended) so Copilot only asks on unfamiliar sites.
        • Strict if wanting it to always ask.
      3. Optionally add the site to the allow list so Copilot can act there without repeatedly asking.

These steps either allow the specific site so the permission prompt stops, or ensure that only trusted sites can open pop-ups while blocking unwanted ones.
