How to: Generate Saved-State Files

The Imagegen tool, which is included with Visual Studio, generates saved-state files for the Device Emulator and performs certain other functions, such as clearing the global saved-state cache.

To start Imagegen.exe

1. Open a console window.

2. Navigate to Imagegen.exe, installed by default at drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Device Emulator\1.0.

3. Run the file by using your choice of options.
