Servizi di dominio Active Directory utilizza diversi tipi di sintassi per rappresentare le stringhe. System.DirectoryServices utilizza la classe String per rappresentare tutti i tipi di sintassi seguenti. Nell'esempio riportato di seguito viene illustrato come leggere una stringa.

String address= ent.Properties["streetAddress "].Value.ToString();
