Ingesting SDOH datasets into a standardized healthcare data model in a Microsoft Fabric data lake unlocks many analytical capabilities for your organization to gain a comprehensive understanding of a patient's health profile.

Social conditions that contribute to an individual's or a population group's health outcome include:

  • Place of birth

  • Median household income

  • Access to transportation

Frequently, organizations face challenges in using SDOH data because they lack standard data collection and exchange mechanisms. By deploying the SDOH datasets - transformations capability into your Fabric workspace, you can ingest, store, and incorporate SDOH data in your analysis of other healthcare data that you ingest in your Microsoft Fabric workspace. SDOH datasets - transformations is an optional capability under healthcare data solutions in Microsoft Fabric. This capability is intended for use alongside other healthcare data solutions in Microsoft Fabric capabilities, but it isn't required if your analytical scenario doesn't need it.
