Day Book Customer Ledger Entry (report)

The Day Book Customer Ledger Entry report shows chronological listings of posted customer ledger entries and their associated general ledger entry amounts, discount, actual amount, tax base, and tax amount. The report groups the data by posting date.

To run the report, you must fill in the Posting Date field. You can choose to include details on customer ledger entries and/or general ledger entries in the report output.

Use cases

Get a daily transaction overview for customer postings, similar in intent to a sales day book or a chronological audit-style listing of customer postings.

Use the report for:

  • Daily control and reconciliation.
  • Audit trail reviews.
  • End of day or period transaction verification.

This report differs from other customer-related reports in the finance area:

  • Unlike the Customer - Trial Balance report, the report is date-driven, and not balance-driven.
  • Unlike the Customer Ledger Entries (page) report, the report is print-oriented and structured for formal reporting.
  • Unlike the Aged AR report, it focuses on posting activity and not open balances.

This report is the only printed report that provides evidence of the associated general ledger entries for each posted sales transaction.
