Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi, I'm John!
Just to clarify. When you say the subscription is on an email you can no longer access, do you mean the Microsoft account itself uses that work email, and you cannot sign in to it anymore?
Unfortunately, a Microsoft 365 subscription cannot be moved or transferred to another Microsoft account. It stays tied to the account it was purchased with.
To help narrow down the issue:
- Are you still able to sign in to the Microsoft account that has the subscription, even if the email mailbox itself is closed?
- Did you purchase the subscription directly from Microsoft, or through a workplace or organization?
If you can still sign in to the account, you may be able to add a new email address as an alias and use that instead.
If you cannot access the Microsoft account at all, then the Microsoft 365 subscription cannot be transferred to another email or Microsoft account. Subscriptions stay tied to the account that purchased them.
In this situation, the practical option is to contact your bank or card provider and ask them to stop or block the recurring charge for the subscription.
Then, on the Microsoft account you currently use and can access, you can simply purchase a new Microsoft 365 subscription.
