Recovery of old email

I am not able to view my old email from 2018. Need to retrieve some important documents

Thank you . I am using both web and mobile app . It is a personal email / hotmail . I have checked all the folders . I only can see emails for 2025 .

Hi, I'm John!

To help narrow down the issue:

Are you using Outlook on the web or the Outlook desktop/mobile app?
Is this a personal Microsoft account (Outlook/Hotmail/Live) or a work or school account?

In the meantime, please check these folders where older emails may have been moved:

Archive
Deleted Items
Junk Email
You can also try using the Search bar and type keywords from the email or document you are looking for.

Also note that if emails were deleted more than 30 days ago, they usually cannot be recovered unless they were stored in another folder or backed up.
