When I try to login to the developer dashboard, I am met with the following error:

We're unable to sign you in with this account

The sign in was unsuccessful. For details, see the Microsoft 365 Developer Program FAQ.

MS-CorrelationId: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

Code: 41101

My Microsoft account is working normally elsewhere. Please reset my Microsoft 365 Developer Program profile.

    Hi Josh Knowles

Error Code 41101 when signing in to the Microsoft 365 Developer Dashboard typically indicates an issue specific to the Developer Program enrollment or profile state, even if the Microsoft account works normally in other services.

To rule out local or browser‑related issues, you may first try basic troubleshooting steps such as clearing your browser cache and cookies, signing in using an InPrivate/Incognito window, or testing with a different browser. Please also review the Microsoft 365 Developer Program FAQ to confirm eligibility requirements.

Please note that profile resets or other account‑level actions for the Microsoft 365 Developer Program cannot be performed through this Microsoft Q&A forum, as moderators do not have access to reset or modify Developer Program profiles.

If the issue persists, the next step is to contact Microsoft Developer Support through the following link: Services Hub. Please note that this portal (Services Hub) is a paid ticket and access is subject to certain conditions, which you can review here: Services Hub sign in FAQs | Microsoft Learn.

Please update this thread to let us know how it goes. Your experience will be valuable to others in the community who may face similar activation or provisioning issues.

Error code 41101 with the message “We’re unable to sign you in with this account” on the Microsoft 365 Developer Program dashboard typically indicates that the account being used is not supported for sign-up/sign-in to the Developer Program.

From the Microsoft 365 Developer Program requirements:

    1. Confirm that the account type is supported:
      • Supported account types for joining/signing in:
        • Work account (Microsoft Entra ID / organizational account)
        • Visual Studio ID
        • Microsoft account (personal)
      • Unsupported sign-in options:
        • Phone numbers
        • Email accounts with the *.onmicrosoft.com domain If a phone number or *.onmicrosoft.com account is used, an error is expected and a different account must be used.
    2. Try signing up/signing in with a different, supported account:
      • Use a work account, Visual Studio ID, or personal Microsoft account that is not in the *.onmicrosoft.com domain and not a phone-number-based sign-in.
      • If there is already a Developer Program account tied to a phone number, only one Developer Program account can exist per phone number. If a new Developer Program account is required with a different email, the existing Developer Program account must be deleted first from the Developer Program dashboard (Profile → Delete Profile), then a new one can be created (subject to the 60‑day subscription age condition).
    3. If the account previously violated the Developer Program terms:
      • Members who violate the Terms and conditions may be blocked from signing in to the Developer Program dashboard. In that case, the profile cannot be “reset” self-service; a different eligible account must be used.
    4. If the account is eligible but sign-in still fails:
      • Follow the documented join flow again using a supported account:
        1. Go to the “Join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program” page.
        2. Select Sign in with a supported Microsoft account or Microsoft Entra–enabled email (not phone, not *.onmicrosoft.com).
        3. Complete the Microsoft 365 Developer Program Signup form and preferences.
      • If eligibility is tied to a specific account (for example, via Visual Studio or partner benefits) and that account is *.onmicrosoft.com, a custom-domain user in the same tenant may need to be used and eligibility may take time to sync. In a similar partner scenario, eligibility appeared only after a backend sync delay; no manual profile reset was required.

There is no documented self-service mechanism to “reset” a Microsoft 365 Developer Program profile from the Learn/Developer side beyond deleting the Developer Program account via the dashboard (when accessible) and re-creating it. If access to the dashboard is completely blocked with 41101 and a supported account is already in use, the next step is to contact Microsoft support for the Developer Program or, if the account is tied to partner or Visual Studio benefits, open a support ticket through those channels and wait for backend eligibility/sync correction.
