- Are you trying to change the email address of your Microsoft account, or just the email where you receive messages?
- Are you able to sign in to your Microsoft account right now?
- Is the email you want to change a Microsoft email (Outlook/Hotmail) or a different provider like Gmail or Yahoo?
If you are changing the Microsoft account email, you usually do this by adding a new alias and setting it as primary here:
https://account.microsoft.com/your-info
Warning: Once a Microsoft domain such as @outlook.com, @live.com and @hotmail.com address has been deleted, it cannot be recovered, added again, or recreated. Microsoft outlines this in the support page https://support.microsoft.com/office/add-or-remove-an-email-alias-in-outlook-com-459b1989-356d-40fa-a689-8f285b13f1f2 under the “Remove an email address” section in the “Important” note.
