I managed to get registered back in the day with just my name @hotmail.com. When outlook happened I believe I then owned the same email address but @Outlook .com

when my children were born ten years ago I attempted to set them up with email addresses. With my daughter I did manage to get her ******@hotmail.com

i believe though from sending a test email to ******@outlook.com and not receiving it and then seeing the recovery email for ******@outlook.com it’s a different person. Is that possible.?

    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on you informaition ******@hotmail.com(daughter) and ******@outlook.com are two completely separate email addresses.

For ease, ******@hotmail.com is yours, and ******@outlook.com could be someone else's email. Your existing Hotmail accounts remain unchanged, and Microsoft has not automatically reserved an Outlook account with the same name.

Thus, it is possible that other people could create those Outlook email addresses. Someone else could have signed up ******@outlook.com at a later part during the transition.
