Inactive Skype Credit must be reactivated in Skype before it can be used via the Skype Dial Pad in Microsoft Teams Free.
Follow these steps:
- Reactivate the inactive Skype Credit
- Go to the Skype Credit reactivation page: https://secure.skype.com/portal/settings/credit/reactivate.
- Sign in with the same Skype account that originally held the credit.
- Select Reactivate Credit.
- Wait up to 15 minutes for reactivation; an email will be sent when it is complete.
- If using iPhone or iPad and the Reactivate Credit option is not visible, clear Safari history and cookies on the device, then sign in again and repeat the steps.
- Verify the correct Skype account
- If reactivation does not appear or the site says there is no paid product, confirm that the correct Skype account is being used.
- Compare the Skype Name on the Skype Profile page (https://secure.skype.com/portal/profile) with the Skype Name mentioned in any email about the credit.
- Use the reactivated credit in Teams Free via Skype Dial Pad
- Ensure the latest version of Microsoft Teams Free is installed.
- Sign in to Microsoft Teams Free with the same Skype account that has the active credit.
- In Teams Free (desktop):
- Select Settings and more (top right).
- Select Skype Dial Pad.
- If the subscription or Skype Credit is active, the Skype Dial Pad will be visible. If not, the option will not appear.
- On mobile (Teams Free app):
- Tap the profile picture.
- Tap Skype Dial Pad.
- If there is no active subscription or Skype Credit, the Skype Dial Pad option will not be shown.
- Alternative access via web dial pad
- Go to https://calling.web.skype.com/.
- Sign in with the Skype account that has the active credit.
- If the credit is active, the dial pad will open and calls to phone numbers can be made using the balance.
- If the message "You don't have any paid product right now" appears, either the wrong account is in use or the credit is still inactive and must be reactivated as in step 1.
If, after confirming the correct account and performing reactivation, the credit still cannot be reactivated or used, direct support from Skype/Microsoft Support is required, as account- and billing-level actions cannot be performed from within Teams or the community tools.
