    Hello albert okello,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you are having issue with signing in your Microsoft account. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you go through this situation.

Here is my suggestion for you:

    1. Use the Microsoft Sign‑in Helper (required)

This tool determines the only recovery options available for your account.

If Microsoft detects a problem, it will route you to the only valid recovery option for your account.

    1. Submit the Account Recovery Form (this is mandatory)

If you don’t have access to the phone number and other methods fail, this is the only path Microsoft allows.

    Critical tips that affect approval:

    • Use a device and location you previously used with this account
    • Enter old passwords (even partially correct one help)

    Include:

    • Approximate account creation year
    • Xbox, Skype, Outlook usage (if any)
    • Subjects of recent emails you sent

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,

Access to the account can only be restored through the official self-service recovery tools. Support agents and forums cannot change the phone number or bypass security checks for a Microsoft account.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Use the Sign-in Helper
      • Go to the Sign-in Helper tool: Sign-in Helper.
      • Enter the email address you use for the Microsoft account and follow the prompts.
      • If the phone number shown is not accessible or not correct, choose the option indicating that none of the verification options work and continue.
    2. Try standard account recovery
      • If the username and password are not working, use the Recover your account flow: Recover your account.
      • Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used to sign in.
      • If a security code can be sent to any valid method you still control (alternate email, different phone, etc.), select it, receive the code, and complete the reset.
    3. If verification options do not work
      • If the verification options are not recognized or you cannot use them, complete the Microsoft account recovery form:
        • Start from the Sign-in Helper or recovery flow and choose the option that leads to the recovery form.
        • Use a working email address you can access (this can be any active email, including a friend’s or a new Outlook.com address) so Microsoft can contact you, as described in Help with the Microsoft account recovery form.
        • Provide as much accurate information as possible about the account (previous passwords, contacts, subjects of recent emails, etc.). Microsoft will review the form and respond, typically within 24 hours.

    Important limitations from the documentation:

    • If two-step verification was turned on and none of the alternate verification methods (phone, email, authenticator) are accessible, support cannot send password reset links or change account details. In that case, only successful completion of the automated recovery process can restore access.
    • If the account has not been signed into for more than two years, it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.

If, after using the Sign-in Helper and carefully completing the recovery form, the information still does not match Microsoft’s records, the account cannot be recovered and a new Microsoft account will be required.
