Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
To cancel a Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft subscription and check if a refund is possible, follow these steps:
- Go to the Services page for your Microsoft account: https://account.microsoft.com/services
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase the subscription.
- Under Services & subscriptions, find the subscription to cancel (for example, Microsoft 365, Clipchamp, extra OneDrive storage, etc.) and select Manage.
- If you see Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire on the date shown and will not be charged again.
- On the next page, select Cancel (it may appear as Cancel, or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on the subscription).
- Scroll through and follow the on‑screen instructions to complete cancellation.
Refund eligibility:
- For Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium purchased directly from Microsoft, cancellation is required first to check refund eligibility.
- Not all cancellations result in a refund.
- In some countries (including Canada, Israel, Korea, Turkey, and for certain longer renewed subscriptions in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, and Portugal), a prorated refund may be available. See the “Countries with prorated refunds for Microsoft subscriptions” article linked from the cancellation pages for details.
- If the subscription was purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store, cancellation and refund must be requested through their support:
- Google Play: see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
- Apple App Store: request a refund from Apple support.
If additional help is needed (for example, problems with charges or refund eligibility), contact Microsoft Support via Contact Microsoft Support, choose the appropriate product/category, and use Get Help then Contact Support.
Be aware that canceling Microsoft 365 can reduce cloud storage to the free quota and may eventually affect access to OneDrive files and Outlook.com email if storage is over the free limit.
