How do you like these charts? I really do. But let me tell you a story.

After about half a year, I needed to use a program that unfortunately only runs on Windows. So I left my Linux environment, booted up Windows 11, clicked my way through the jungle of update notifications and warnings about unused printers, did what I needed to do, and started rendering a video. I was looking forward to the morning, because it was supposed to be finished in 6 hours.

Of course Windows Update started pestering me too, but I used the option to schedule the restart for 7:30 a.m. today, which still left a several-hour buffer for the rendering to finish, so I went to sleep in peace.

Today at 7:20 a.m. I sat down at my PC. It had already restarted. Do you think a finished video was waiting for me, or just another lesson in why that chart looks the way it does? The restart occurred at 3:50 according to the Windows Event log.

P.S. As my own small part of the resistance, Windows is getting removed this weekend from three more PCs in the family.
