Teams iOS Mobile App - Merging Calls

Last week, I showed someone how to merge incoming calls to an existing call using the Teams mobile app on their iPhone, iPad and desk Poly CCX 600 desk phone. This week, we cannot merge calls at all from these devices. In fact, the option to Merge Calls is no longer under the More button. Our end user community that rely on this feature on their mobile devices are not going to be happy. Using the desktop application is not an option for many of them. Is this functionality on iOS devices returning?

Call merge is currently documented and supported only on the Microsoft Teams desktop client. The feature is explicitly not available for Teams meetings and is not listed as a capability on Teams mobile clients.

From the current documentation, call merge:

    • Is supported on the Teams desktop client only.
    • Is not available for Teams meetings.

There is no information in the provided documentation indicating that call merge on iOS (Teams mobile on iPhone or iPad) is supported or that it will be reintroduced. For users who require call merge, the supported path is to use the Teams desktop client where the More actions > Call merge option is available.
