Additional chat-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Dear Hrishikesh Nannaware,
Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on the screenshot you shared, it appears you are using Microsoft Teams and want to hide usernames in the chat box so that messages appear without showing the sender’s name.
However, currently, in Microsoft Teams:
- The chat interface always displays the sender’s name above each message.
- There is no built-in option for standard users to completely hide usernames in chat.
If your goal is to discuss content anonymously, you can consider using Teams Whiteboard, Forms or OneNote within Teams. These tools allow users to post ideas or contributions without displaying their names.
In the meantime, Microsoft truly values customer feedback. If having a built-in anonymous messaging feature would benefit your workflow, I encourage you to submit your suggestion through the Feedback Portal: Ideas · Community. This is the best way to let the product team know your needs and help improve Microsoft services.
I hope this information helps. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to let me know.
