Dear Microsoft Support Team,

We are currently experiencing integration issues with our paid Microsoft Teams account and would appreciate your assistance in resolving them.

1. Zoho Mail Synchronization Issue

We use Zoho Mail for our official email communications. However:

  • Microsoft Teams does not automatically synchronize with our Zoho Mail accounts.
  • Calendar events and meeting data are not syncing between Teams and Zoho Mail.
  • Applications used in our daily workflows are not integrating seamlessly within Teams as expected.

2. Meeting Invitation Emails Not Delivered

When we schedule meetings using the Microsoft Teams calendar feature:

Invitation emails are not being sent to participants’ Zoho Mail inboxes.

External participants using Zoho Mail do not receive calendar invites automatically.

As a result, meeting notifications must be manually shared, which disrupts our workflow.

Expected Behavior

We expect that:

Teams meeting invitations should automatically send email notifications to all participants, including Zoho Mail users.

Calendar synchronization should function properly between Teams and our Zoho Mail accounts.

Request for Support

Kindly assist us with:

  • Confirming whether Zoho Mail is fully supported for calendar and email synchronization with Microsoft Teams.
  • Providing configuration steps (if any) required to enable proper calendar integration.
  • Identifying if this issue is related to tenant configuration, DNS settings, domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, MX), or admin-level restrictions.

We would appreciate your guidance on how to restore full synchronization and meeting invitation functionality.

Kind regards,

    Dear @Admin Project,

Good day. Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

First of all, I’m sorry you’re having a problem and for the situation you encountered, I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

According to your description, please kindly allow me to clarify some information:

At this time, Zoho Calendar does not provide a direct, native synchronization with Microsoft Teams calendars. Because of this limitation, events created in Teams cannot automatically sync two‑way with Zoho Calendar.

As a supported workaround, you may use the Outlook Calendar sync option to bridge both platforms. By synchronizing your Outlook calendar with Zoho Calendar, you can conveniently add, edit, and delete events within Zoho Calendar, while keeping them aligned with Outlook. This helps reduce the need to switch between multiple applications when managing your schedule.

For detailed setup instructions, please refer to the official Zoho guide below: https://www.zoho.com/calendar/help/sync-outlook-calendar.html

If you require further assistance or have additional questions specific to Zoho Mail or calendar synchronization, please feel free to contact Zoho Support directly at ******@zohomail.com, and their team will be happy to assist you.

Please understand that as forum moderator, my primary goal is to provide helpful guidance and support through general troubleshooting steps. While I don’t have access to internal systems required to resolve account issues, I truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations. I genuinely hope the information I share helps guide you in the right direction, and I'm always here to assist as much as I can within my scope.

Thank you very much for your valuable time and your cooperation. Hope you have a great day!

Zoho Mail isn’t listed in the provided material as a supported provider for native, automated calendar and email synchronization with Microsoft Teams. The documented “bring your own email” and calendar sync scenarios focus on:

    • Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
    • Google Workspace (explicitly supported for bidirectional calendar sync)

Zoho Mail isn’t mentioned in these integration paths, so full, automatic calendar and mailbox–level sync between Teams and Zoho Mail (like what’s available with Exchange Online or Google Workspace) isn’t covered.

However, Teams meeting invitations sent from a Teams calendar should still be delivered as standard email/calendar invites to any external SMTP address (including Zoho) as long as:

    • The Teams tenant is correctly configured with a working email system.
    • The business domain is properly connected and DNS is correctly set up.

Based on the context, the following checks and configuration paths are relevant.

    1. Confirm how email is connected to Teams

Use the “Use your existing email with Teams” / “Integrate your business email with Teams” setup to ensure the tenant and domain are correctly connected:

    1. If using Microsoft 365 email (Exchange Online):
      • Connect the custom business domain so that email for that domain is delivered through Microsoft 365.
      • In the wizard, choose Option 1 (Add DNS records) to point MX and related records to Microsoft 365.
      • Once completed, email sent to and from the custom business domain is delivered through Microsoft 365, and Teams, Outlook, and Bookings use that same address.
    2. If keeping an external provider (for example, Google):
      • The wizard supports Option 2 for connecting another provider such as Google, with specific steps and links to set up calendar sync.
      • The documentation explicitly calls out Google Workspace for calendar syncing; Zoho Mail is not listed.

Because Zoho Mail is not mentioned, there is no documented, automated calendar sync path between Teams and Zoho Mail comparable to the Google Workspace integration.

    2. Verify domain connection and DNS for Teams email behavior

If the goal is to have Teams send meeting invitations from the business domain and ensure reliable delivery:

    1. Connect the business domain to Microsoft 365 so that:
      • Users can sign in to Teams with the business email.
      • Teams calendars are associated with the same business email address.
      • Meeting invitations created in Teams, Outlook, and Bookings are sent from that address.
    2. Use the domain connection guidance:
      • Follow the “Connect your business domain for simplified login” wizard.
      • For Option 1, add the required DNS records at the domain host (MX, TXT, etc.) so that Microsoft 365 handles mail for that domain.

If Zoho Mail remains the primary mail host (MX still pointing to Zoho), the context does not describe a supported configuration where Teams can fully synchronize calendars with Zoho Mail or guarantee integrated behavior beyond sending standard SMTP invitations.

    3. Troubleshoot missing or failing Teams invitations

If invitations created in Teams are not arriving at Zoho Mail recipients at all:

    1. Confirm that Teams is actually sending invitations:
      • Ensure the tenant is configured with a valid email system (either Exchange Online via connected domain or supported “existing email” configuration).
      • Verify that meeting invitations are visible in the organizer’s mailbox (if using Exchange Online) and that the organizer can receive other Teams-related mail.
    2. Check for external delivery issues:
      • Since Zoho Mail is external, verify with Zoho that messages from the Teams/tenant sending domain are not being blocked or filtered as spam.
      • Ensure DNS for the sending domain (SPF/DKIM/MX) is correctly configured according to whichever system is actually sending the mail (Microsoft 365 if Option 1 is used).
    3. If using Exchange Online and Teams together and calendar items are not appearing in Teams:
      • Use the Teams Calendar App connectivity test in Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer to verify that Teams can access the mailbox.
      • Confirm the Teams Calendar app is enabled in the Teams admin center and that coexistence mode allows Teams meetings.

If all prerequisites and configurations are correct and invitations still do not arrive, the guidance is to escalate via a Microsoft Support service request with:

    • UserPrincipalName of affected users
    • Time (UTC) when the issue was reproduced
    • Teams client debug logs

    4. What is and isn’t supported for Zoho Mail

    From the provided material:

    • Supported, documented calendar sync: Microsoft 365/Exchange Online and Google Workspace.
    • Zoho Mail is not listed as a supported provider for native calendar synchronization with Teams.
    • Teams can still send standard email invitations to any external address, but end-to-end, provider-level calendar sync with Zoho Mail is not documented.

    For the requested items:

    • Zoho Mail support status: Not documented as a fully supported calendar/email sync provider for Teams.
    • Configuration steps: Only documented for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. For Zoho, only generic external email behavior (standard SMTP invites) can be assumed; no specific Zoho configuration steps are provided.
    • Tenant/DNS/domain aspects: Correctly connecting the business domain to Microsoft 365 and configuring DNS via the wizard is required if Microsoft 365 is to send mail and provide integrated calendars. SPF/DKIM/MX must match whichever system is actually sending mail, but Zoho-specific settings are not covered.

If full, automatic calendar synchronization with Zoho Mail is a hard requirement, the documented options are either:

    • Move business email and calendar to Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) and connect the domain, or
    • Use Google Workspace with the documented calendar sync integration.
