My VM resource with name <Removed VM Name> suddenly gone

My VM with name <Removed VM Name> suddenly gone.
I already checked the activity logs but none of them shows any VM deletion. Please restore the deleted VM resource.

Azure does not have a recycle bin or native restore option for deleted virtual machine resources.

If the VM cloudpanel‑lq is no longer visible and the Activity Logs do not show a recent delete operation, the VM itself cannot be restored directly once deleted. However, recovery may still be possible depending on what remains:

If Azure Backup was enabled for this VM, you can restore it from a Recovery Services Vault using an available recovery point. Azure Backup is the only supported way to recover a deleted VM resource - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-arm-restore-vms

In additional to above Himanshu's response, Unfortunately, if you or your team deleted both the VM and the OS disk, it is very unlikely that you will be able to recover the VM. The OS disk contains the operating system and other essential files for the VM, so without it, the VM cannot be restored.

If you had configured backups for the VM, you may be able to restore the VM from a backup. However, if you did not configure backups, then the VM is gone.

In the future, it is important to carefully consider the names of your resources when creating them. If you have multiple resources with similar names, it is easy to accidentally delete the wrong one. You can also use tags to help you keep track of your resources.

Here are some tips for preventing accidental VM deletion:

Use unique names for your VMs.

Use tags to help you keep track of your VMs.

Configure backups for your VMs.

Be careful when deleting resources.
