Yes, this is possible.

In both Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Teams Free, when live captions are turned on during a meeting, they are only visible to the person who enabled them on their own device. Other participants, including the organizer, do not see that user’s captions unless they also choose to turn on captions for themselves.

To do this in your meeting:

1. Join the meeting.
2. Select More actions (the three dots in the meeting controls).
3. In Teams Free: select Turn on live captions.
4. In the full Teams client: select Language and speech > Show live captions.

The captions will appear at the bottom of your screen and remain visible only to you. Other attendees must independently enable captions if they want to see them.
