How do I change so that the numbers flow down smoothly instead of changing instantly? It is only a visual feature. See the GIF to understand what I want.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how you want the numbers in Excel to update with a smooth “curtain‑like” animation instead of changing instantly, especially after seeing how it looks in the GIF you provided. Excel does not include any built‑in feature that animates changing cell values, and according to Microsoft’s latest guidance, Excel updates cell content immediately without animation because its calculation engine is designed for performance rather than visual transitions.

The only way to create this effect is to use custom VBA code, PowerPoint‑style animations, or play the animation through a dashboard tool such as Power BI, since Excel itself does not offer native transition effects for cell value updates. If you want, I can help you build a simple VBA macro that simulates a downward scrolling number animation, or suggest alternative ways to achieve the visual effect.

May I ask whether you need this animation for a presentation, a dashboard, or for personal visualization? Feel free to share more about your scenario, and I’ll be glad to help you move forward.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel
