Edit SharePoint Library view in the new library format.

I have a number of views created in document libraries, but the new format doesn't allow me to edit those views and adjust the filters that have been set. All the help articles say to select Edit Current View as I would have done previously, but the option is no longer there. How do I edit views? User's image

    Hi Katiered29

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum

In this context, you can follow the instructions below:

    1. Go to the view you want to change.
    2. Change the filter using either:
      • a column header menu → Filter by, then Apply, or
      • the Filters pane (funnel icon) and apply your choices.
    3. Open the view menu (where your screenshot shows the options).
    4. Select Save view to overwrite/update that same view’s filters/settings. Use Save view as… if you want to keep the old view and create a new one.

That’s the direct replacement for “Edit current view” when your goal is to adjust filters/sorts/visible columns.

Note: You need Contribute permission level or higher to edit a view.

Hope my answer will help you.
