Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I am writing to report an issue with my Surface Pen on a Surface Pro 10. Although the pen appears to be connected, the screen does not respond to touch input from the pen tip.

Issue Details:

Touch Input: No response when touching the screen with the pen tip.

Bluetooth Connection: The status shows as "Connected" in Windows settings.

Power/Charging: The pen charges correctly, and the LED indicator light is functioning.

Button Functionality: The tail button (shortcut button) works perfectly for both double-clicks and long presses.

Could you please look into this matter and provide guidance on how to resolve this?

Best regards,

Since your Bluetooth is connected, the LED works, and the tail button functions, that means:

    Bluetooth pairing is OK

    Battery and charging are OK

Button electronics are working As the Pen tip is not writing → this usually means either:

    Pen tip hardware issue

    Touch driver issue

    Wrong pen compatibility

    Digitizer driver problem

Settings → Windows Update → Advanced Options

    Click Optional Updates

    Install all Surface firmware updates

    Shut down Surface completely

    Press & hold Volume Up

    Press Power

Release Power, keep holding Volume Up

    You enter UEFI screen

    Try writing there.

If pen works → Windows driver problem

If pen does NOT work → Pen tip hardware problem
