Hi,

I have a Microsoft 365 family subscription but as I am active as a small business, I need the full option for Teams. What to do? Should I change my subscripton in a business subscription?

What is the best option (knowing that I have a small company) , and how to proceed?

My current subscription is for 5 persons but I am the only user. Extensions to other users should be lilted to two person.

Please, inform me.

    Hello @Kris Keymolen,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Forum and thank you for your question.

If you would like to use Microsoft Teams with the full business features, you may want to consider switching to one of the Microsoft 365 business plans. You can explore plans such as Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Business Standard, both include Teams along with the Office applications and additional business services.

If you prefer to use Teams on its own, without the Office apps, then Teams Essentials would be a suitable option. And if you need the complete, most advanced Teams experience, including enhanced meetings, AI features, and advanced management capabilities, you can look into Teams Premium.

You can review and compare all available plans at the links below:

Regarding users: these business plans work based on licenses. This means you can simply purchase the exact number of licenses you need, and only the people assigned those licenses will be able to use the services.

If you need any further help, feel free to let me know. I'm happy to assist.

    Kind regards,

If you are running a small business and require the full features of Microsoft Teams, it would be advisable to switch from your Microsoft 365 Family subscription to a business subscription. Microsoft offers several plans tailored for small businesses, such as Microsoft 365 Business Basic and Microsoft 365 Business Standard, which include enhanced features for Teams and other business applications.

    To proceed with the change:

    1. Evaluate Your Needs: Consider which business plan best fits your requirements. For example, Microsoft 365 Business Basic includes Teams and other essential apps, while Business Standard offers additional desktop applications.
    2. Check License Availability: Since you mentioned that you only need to extend to two users, ensure that you have enough licenses available for the new subscription.
    3. Purchase the New Subscription: Go to the Microsoft 365 business plans page, select the plan that suits your needs, and complete the purchase.
    4. Move Users: After purchasing, you can move your existing user account to the new subscription. If you need to add more users in the future, you can easily do so.
    5. Cancel the Old Subscription: Once you have successfully transitioned to the new plan, you can cancel your old Family subscription if it is no longer needed.

This approach will ensure you have access to the full capabilities of Teams and other Microsoft 365 services tailored for business use.
