Is it a Microsoft Account or, a Local Account?

    If, it's a Microsoft Account:

    On another device visit:

    https://account.microsoft.com/password/reset

    Enter your email address

    Verify code

    Create a new password

    Restart your Surface

Connect to Wi-Fi on the login screen

Sign in with the new password

If you have a Local Account:

    If You Set Security Questions:

At login screen, click Reset password

    Answer security questions

    Create new password

If You have not Set Security Questions:

    At login screen hold Shift

    Click Power → Restart

    Choose:

    Troubleshoot

    Reset this PC

    Select Keep my files

    Follow onscreen instructions.

If you have forgotten your admin password for your Windows Surface Pro 7+, you can reset it by following these steps:

    1. Use the Self-Service Password Reset: If your organization has enabled this feature, you can reset your password using your security information. This typically involves answering security questions or using a mobile device to receive a verification code.
      • For work or school accounts, visit this link.
    2. Contact Support: If you are the only global admin and cannot reset your password, you may need to contact the Azure Data Protection team or Microsoft 365 Data Protection team for assistance. You can find the appropriate contact information for your region at Get support for Microsoft 365.
    3. Ask Another Admin: If there are other administrators in your organization, you can ask them to reset your password for you.

Make sure to provide your username when seeking help, as this will assist in the recovery process.
