Why is Outlook webemail through a school not loading inbox messages on an iMac?

I recently enrolled in a Graduate program and am trying to access my emails in the school webemail server. When I click on an email in the inbox to open, it won't open. I'm using an iMac with Safari. I downloaded Chrome, but Chrome won't accept my password log into the school system. I have been in contact with the IT Help Desk and they don't have a solution. Thank you

    Hi Tracy Smith
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum! Have a good day and I hope you're doing well!

I completely understand how frustrating this must be.

To help us narrow down the issue, what was the actual error message you received from the Outlook webmail when the emails failed to load? If possible, could you capture a screenshot of the error and reply to me via private message?

In the meantime, please try these two steps:

    1. Could you try opening Chrome in Incognito Mode and logging in again? This often bypasses cache or password autofill errors that might be causing the login failure you mentioned.

    2. Since you are on an iMac, have you tried downloading the dedicated Microsoft Outlook application directly from the Mac App Store? The native app is usually much more stable and compatible with school servers than the web version on Safari.

I hope you get this sorted out quickly so you can focus on your studies. Looking forward to hearing positive news from you!
