Disabling Reaction Sending on Outlook in Android

I use Outlook on my Android phone for work. My work is such that sending reactions is COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE IN MOST SITUATIONS. (Yes, I am shouting.) But if I am trying to, say, set a message to unread, I could accidentally click on a reaction (like laughter!) by accident, and that reaction would be sent IMMEDIATELY. I could get SUED if I did that. My current option is to stop reading emails from my clientele on my phone and only use my computer. Can you please give me the ability to disable these reactions?

    Hi @MichaelRBeetley,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A, and thank you very much for reaching out.

Based on your description, unfortunately as Q&A assist mentioned, there is no supported option to disable email reactions in Outlook currently, whether on mobile (Android/iOS) or on desktop. As a forum moderator, I’m unable to make changes to product features and can only share information based on publicly available documentation and resources.

That said, I did find an existing Microsoft Feedback requesting this same capability. I recommend reviewing it and adding your vote or comment. The more feedback Microsoft receives on this request, the more likely it is to be considered for future updates.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Currently, there is no option available in Outlook for Android to disable the sending of reactions directly. The reactions feature is integrated into the app, and while it can be frustrating in professional contexts, users must be cautious when navigating the app to avoid accidental reactions.

If this is a significant concern for you, consider providing feedback to Microsoft through their official channels, as user feedback can influence future updates and features. You can also explore using the desktop version of Outlook for sensitive communications to avoid this issue altogether.
