Teams does not correctly display 'Last Seen' in Afrikaans

My Teams is set up in Afrikaans, which is my 1st language, but when I look at a person's "Last Seen", I see the following:

Laas gesien %d. %u. gelede

As you can see, the %d and %u are not rendered as numbers as they are in the English version

Kind regards

    Hello @Demi-N

Thank you so much for your prompt response

    1. Switched to English (worked fine), then I switched back to Afrikaans
    2. Cleared cache, made no difference
    3. I want to avoid re-installing at this time if possible, as I believe it will cause much unnecessary admin for our I.T. Department

    My version is 26015.1706.4351.4392.

I originally had Teams set to take the OS-Language (also Afrikaans), and then I set it specifically to Afrikaans as well. Same behavior either way.

    Kind regards

    Helgaardt

    Hello @Helgaardt Holtzhausen,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Forum and thank you for your question.

I tested this behavior on my side using a clean test environment, and I could not reproduce the issue you described, the “Last Seen” information displayed normally for me.

To investigate further, could you please help me with a few additional details?

First, may I ask which Teams version you are currently using? You can find this by going to Settings > About Teams.

In the meantime, I would also like to check whether this behavior affects only your device or if it impacts others in your organization as well. Do you know if anyone else in your company is experiencing the same issue when using Afrikaans?

To continue troubleshooting, please try the following actions and let me know the results:

    1. Switch to another language temporarily, then switch back to Afrikaans, and check if the “Last Seen” text updates correctly.
    2. Clear the Teams cache following Microsoft’s instructions here: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
    3. If possible (and if permitted by your organization), please uninstall and reinstall the Teams app to ensure all language resources are refreshed.

Once you’ve tried these steps, please update me with the information and screenshots. This will help me continue investigating and assist you further.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you, and I look forward to your reply.

    Kind regards
