Thanks for the helpful response and guidance @Marcin Policht .
Adding One important clarification: Always On Availability Groups only support rolling upgrades between adjacent SQL Server versions. Because of this, a direct rolling upgrade from SQL Server 2014 to SQL Server 2022 is not supported. The upgrade would need to be performed sequentially through intermediate versions (2016 → 2017 → 2019 → 2022) or by migrating the database to a new SQL Server 2022 instance.
