All videos and also the video on MS Teams (my computer only, not the other participants) is Hazy and Blurry and colours are distorted (ex. greens are red).

I have an old Surface Pro Laptop (DESKTOP-KMDOJ15) still running on Windows 10 Pro Ver 22H2.

8GB RAM , INTEL i5 7300U CPU 2.6 GHz, Intel HD Graphic Card 620/128 MB, 119 GB Storage, 64 Bit Operating System

I have tried changing the resolution, scale and other settings. I have searched the web for solutions.

I am not sure whether this is a hardware or software issue.

Is this an easy fix, or fo I have to abandon my Surface Pro? Could the Graphics Card be the issue?

Any ideas?

    1. Press Windows + X
    2. Click Device Manager
    3. Expand Display adapters
    4. Right-click Intel HD Graphics 620
    5. Click Uninstall device
    6. Tick Delete the driver software if available
    7. Restart the laptop: Go to Microsoft Surface support site Download the Surface Pro drivers pack for Windows 10 Install and restart again.

    In Microsoft Teams:

    • Settings → General
    • Disable GPU hardware acceleration
    • Restart Teams

    Check in Safe mode:

If video colors look normal there → software/driver problem

If still distorted → possible GPU hardware issue

To address the hazy and blurry video issues you're experiencing on your Surface Pro during Microsoft Teams calls, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Update Drivers and Firmware: Ensure that your Surface Pro has the latest drivers and firmware installed. Microsoft regularly releases updates that can improve video quality and system performance. You can check for updates through Windows Update.
    2. Graphics Driver Updates: Since you have an Intel HD Graphics 620, make sure that the graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this via Windows Update or by using your IT management tool if applicable.
    3. Adjust Power Settings: Optimize your power settings for better performance during video calls. Connect your device to AC power and adjust the power mode to "Better Performance" or "Best Performance" to enhance video quality.
    4. Disable Hardware Acceleration: In Microsoft Teams, try disabling GPU hardware acceleration. Go to the Teams settings (Settings and more menu next to your profile picture) and select the option to disable GPU hardware acceleration.
    5. Check Display Settings: Ensure that your display settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, incorrect resolution settings can cause display issues. Try setting your resolution to a standard 1920 x 1080 if possible.
    6. Test with Different Applications: Check if the issue persists across other applications or just in Teams. This can help you determine if it's a software-specific issue.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be worth considering hardware limitations, especially since your Surface Pro is an older model. However, many users have found success with the above optimizations.
