    Hi @Tony Jasinski

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing about what you’ve been going through.

I understand that having an old Teams account still showing up can get in the way, especially when you no longer have access to it. Please try the options below based on the device you’re using:

Remove the Account from the Teams App

    1. Open Microsoft Teams.
    2. Select your profile picture at the top right.
    3. Find the old account and select Remove or Sign out.  User's image
    4. If the account still appears afterward, clearing the app’s data can help:

Below is the official Microsoft article with the steps for clearing the cache in both Classic and New Teams: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

Remove the Account from Windows Settings

    1. Open Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts.
    2. Under Accounts used by other apps, select the old account.
    3. Choose Remove.

    Clear Old Credentials (Windows)

    1. Open Control Panel > Choose User Accounts > Credential Manager.
    2. Select Windows Credentials.

    1. Remove anything related to:
      • MicrosoftOffice
      • Teams
      • Your old email address

Note: Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I hope this information is useful. Additionally, as other users have raised similar concerns and may not be aware of where to share their feedback, I hope this response helps clarify the situation and suggests a potential next step. Highlighting this information can make it more visible to others in the community who may be facing the same issue, making it easier for them to find guidance and contribute their feedback as well.

Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I look forward to your thoughts on this.

To remove a Microsoft Teams account that you no longer have access to, you typically need to delete the account from your organization's Microsoft 365 admin center if you are an admin. If you are not an admin, you will need to contact your IT department or the person responsible for managing user accounts in your organization. They can assist you in removing the account.

If your organization uses Active Directory, you must delete the user account in the local Active Directory environment, as you cannot delete or restore it directly in Microsoft 365.

For further steps on how to manage user accounts, including removing a former employee's account, you can refer to the Microsoft documentation on this topic.
