Since Microsoft Teams Essentials is a business subscription, could you please help re‑confirm the following:
- I also noticed that your post is tagged under “Business.” Could you please confirm whether you’re using a work (organizational) account, or a personal account such as Outlook.com or Hotmail.com?
- Are you a Global Administrator or Billing Administrator for your organization?
- Did you purchase the subscription directly from Microsoft, or through a third‑party reseller?
Because this is a business subscription, the cancellation can only be performed by an administrator through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
If you are an admin for your organization, you can follow the steps below to cancel the subscription. Q&A Assistance mentioned before; however, I will include screenshots as well to make the process easier to follow:
(If you are not the global admin, please kindly ask your IT Admin to do it for you)
(Since my test environment does not include a Microsoft Teams Essentials subscription, I tested this using a Microsoft Teams Enterprise trial instead. However, the cancellation steps are the same)
- You can select Microsoft Teams Essentials and choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
Note: If you have lost administrator access, or if the subscription was purchased through a third‑party reseller, please reply here in the thread so I can guide you on the appropriate next steps.
