    Hi @Manas Michael,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue that the Outlook app issues on iOS device after an update.

Based on my research, Microsoft has confirmed an ongoing service incident affecting Outlook/Exchange Online. As a result, some users may experience issues with Outlook crashing or freezing when opening.

Microsoft has acknowledged this issue and the engineers has started recovery efforts began on January 21, 2026. Service availability is steadily improving toward normal levels and will be updated publicly when available.

At this stage, no action is required on your part. Once systems are fully restored, Outlook should begin functioning normally again without the need to make changes to your settings or devices. That said, I kindly hope you can remain patient a little longer while the engineering teams continue working hard to fully restore the best possible experience for all users.

Also, since many others in the community may still be unaware of this incident, if you found this information helpful, please mark the answer as “Accept answer”. This will help surface the post to the top so others facing similar issues can easily find it.

Thank you again for being part of the Microsoft Q&A community. If you have any further questions or updates, feel free to reply here. I’ll be happy to assist you further.

Hi @Ankit Singh, @Simon Dickinson, @Lucas Bannister, @Surapong and any others who has same issue,

The engineering team have been working on this issue, and a solution has been developed and will be rolled out in the next update for all users. A public update will be shared as soon as additional information becomes available.

While the final fix is being fully deployed, the current workaround involves disabling Wi-fi, launching the app and then re-enabling Wi-fi. To avoid negative impacts for your workflow, please consider temporarily accessing your account through mobile browser at Outlook web version to ensure you don't miss any urgent communications.

Additionally, this incident can be reported through the Microsoft 365 admin center. Submitting a report helps the backend teams track the issue more effectively and prioritize it for the impacted organization.

It seems that you are experiencing issues with the Outlook app on your iPad after a recent update, where you can receive emails but are unable to open them. This could be due to several reasons, such as app glitches after the update or settings that need to be adjusted.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Restart the Outlook App: Close the app completely and then reopen it to see if that resolves the issue.
    2. Check for Updates: Ensure that both your iPad's iOS and the Outlook app are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs that cause such issues.
    3. Reinstall the App: If the problem persists, try uninstalling the Outlook app and then reinstalling it from the App Store.
    4. Check Settings: Ensure that your email account settings are correctly configured within the app.
    5. Clear Cache: If possible, clear the cache of the app to remove any corrupted data that might be causing the issue.

If none of these steps work, you may want to check the Microsoft support forums or contact their support for further assistance.
