My team frequently uses Planner to organize tasks, however, we noticed that there seems to be an update that is resulting in the "Assign Task" button to be purple. How might we get rid of this change and revert to no color?

    Hi @Katie Erdmann,
Thank you for posting your question to Microsoft Q&A Forum.
The purple styling is part of a recent Microsoft Planner interface update. Microsoft has been rolling out UI refreshes across Planner (both in Teams and on the web) to align with the newer Planner design language. These updates include new icons, accent colors, and visual consistency across Microsoft 365 apps.

This update also matches other color‑related changes previously introduced in Planner (for example, changes in the colors of Completed tasks), which follow Microsoft’s internal design consistency efforts.

At this time, there is no setting to disable the new highlight color, no option to revert the button to its previous neutral appearance, and no admin control available to override the updated Planner interface styling. Microsoft has not provided any option to revert UI elements that are part of global design updates.

However, I understand that not every change works well for everyone. It’s important to be able to customize your workspace to fit your needs, and this is a valuable suggestion many users may also share. Your feedback can help prioritize this improvement and potentially bring the option back in the future.
