Click to set up your PIN again. Set up my PIN." and it redirects me to a microsoft login. do i just need to re-login to the microsoft account or what do i do? i cannot get into the pc until then and i dont want to damage anything. i just need to know what to do?

    Hi Dakota Bilyeu,

The message “Something happened and your PIN isn’t available” usually indicates that the Windows Hello PIN component has become invalid or corrupted, often after system changes such as disabling Hyper‑V. When the system redirects you to a Microsoft account login, it is asking you to authenticate with the account credentials tied to the device. Once you successfully sign in with the Microsoft account password, you can re‑establish the PIN under Settings > Accounts > Sign‑in options.

This process will not damage the PC or its data, it simply refreshes the credential provider. If you are unable to log in with the Microsoft account, you can also use the local account password if one exists. After gaining access, I recommend running sfc /scannow to ensure no system files were affected by the script changes.

I hope this guidance helps you restore access without concern. If this explanation is useful, please hit “Accept Answer” so I know your issue is resolved.

    Jason.

If you're encountering the message that your PIN isn't available and are being redirected to set up your PIN again, you can follow these steps:

    1. Sign in with your Microsoft account: Since the system is prompting you to log in, go ahead and enter your Microsoft account credentials. This should allow you to access your account and proceed with the PIN setup.
    2. Reset your PIN: After logging in, you should be able to set up your PIN again. If you have an alternate sign-in method available, you can use that to access your device and reset your PIN.
    3. Check for any issues with Hyper-V: Since you mentioned running a script to disable Hyper-V, ensure that the changes made by the script did not affect any essential system components or settings that might be causing this issue.

If you continue to experience problems, consider rebooting the device or checking for any additional error messages that could provide more context on the issue.
