Conversations involving multiple participants, allowing collaboration and information sharing in Teams
Hello @Demerdjiev, Kate
Welcome to Q&A forum!
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to completely remove a transcript from a Teams chat so that no one else can see it. Here’s why:
- Teams stores data centrally: All chat messages and meeting transcripts are saved on Microsoft’s servers and follow your organization’s retention and compliance policies. This ensures records are kept for security and legal reasons.
- Deleting only affects your view: If you delete a message, it disappears from your chat, but the transcript and other participants’ messages remain. Meeting transcripts are also linked to the meeting details and stored in OneDrive or SharePoint.
- Shared access remains: If the transcript has already been shared, others with access can still view it. Removing it from your account doesn’t revoke their permissions.
