How to transfer Microsoft license to a new laptop?

I would like to transfer a Microsoft Office license I purchased for life from old laptop to the new laptop pls.
What are the steps to follow. I was not able to register my old laptop as the Serial Number was not recognized.

Hello

You would need to uninstall it on the old computer first. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, uninstall it from there.

Then on the new computer, Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the purchase. Click on Apps on the left.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.

thanks but the license was purchased through electronic email offer on laptop 1 and when I bought laptop 2 I contacted support and they helped me install Office on the Laptop 2 but I did not keep the key info on hand. Now I would like to move to Laptop 3 . I have MS Office installed on Laptop 2 how to find the license key so I can install it on the Laptop 3? (I checked in my MS Account > My Devices and found no device registered)

The method above should apply though as these days Office products are tied to your Microsoft account, there's no more 5x5 key involved.

how can I tell which is the Microsoft account with which I completed the purchase
Is it the account/email I see when I go to Settings > apps as you can see in the screenshot? if not, how can I identify the email/MS Account associated with the purchase. thanks
