Hi,

I have a new laptop that a temp user was using to do some training about Microsoft and Intune. He left the company couple of month ago and then I realized that he locked the laptop on a test tenant when doing Intune training. I called him but he forgot all the credentials as he did not put the real one for training.

I would want to know how can I default the laptop so that we can use it again in our company. I have the PO just in vase we need this as a proof.

The user he logged in as is ******@examlabpractice0524.onmicrosoft.com

Thanks

Abhi

To remove a laptop from a test Intune tenant when you don't have access, you can follow these general steps:

    1. Factory Reset the Device: If the device is locked to a test tenant and you cannot access it, performing a factory reset (wipe) is a common solution. This will erase all data and settings, allowing you to set it up as a new device. Make sure to back up any important data if possible before proceeding.
    2. Delete the Device from Intune: After performing a factory reset, if the device is still associated with the Intune tenant, you may need to delete it from the Intune management portal. This typically requires administrative access to the tenant, which you may not have.
    3. Contact IT Support: If you are unable to perform the above steps due to lack of access, it may be necessary to contact your IT department or the administrator of the test tenant for assistance in removing the device from management.
    4. Use Recovery Options: If the laptop is running Windows, you can also try using recovery options to reset the device. This can usually be accessed through the boot menu.
    5. Proof of Purchase: Keep your proof of purchase handy, as it may be required if you need to escalate the issue or if you need to prove ownership of the device.

By following these steps, you should be able to regain access to the laptop and set it up for use in your company again.
