Please disable URL truncation in Teams

The end of a URL is frequently the most significant part, pointing to a specific resource.

If truncating is for readability, then you should omit the beginning of the URL, not the end.

For example... a truncated link to some helpful documentation may miss the actual name/title of the article. A link to a ticket in a ticketing system truncates the actual ticket number, and so on.

Please also note that the shortcut on Mac is: Alt + Cmd + Shift + v (or, in symbolic notation: ⌥ + ⌘ + ⇧ + v)

Because changes to this feature are handled by the product team, there is unfortunately nothing I can modify from my side as a forum moderator. I completely agree with you that the beginning portion of the URL should be omitted so that it does not hide the article title.

This feature should be removed or at least made configurable. Users should be able to control exactly what text they want to communicate to another person. Teams should in no way be forcing this on users.

As the users above have mentioned, the end of the URL often has very important information as part of the message being sent. For example, I spend a lot of time discussing API calls made through the use of URLs. Now every time I try to paste one to a colleague, they cannot see what I'm referring to without opening the URL and I cannot immediately tell if I have sent the correct one or read back through discussions and easily understand the context. This has not "improved readability" for me. In fact, very much the opposite.

What is extra annoying about this is that it doesn't just do this for URLs typed or pasted in plain text - if you paste a chunk of XML or other code that happens to include URLs it does the same as well including truncating the rest of the entire line that contains the URL!

Simply put, this "improved readability" that cannot be disabled makes Teams no longer fit for purpose for technical/coding related messages, and by extension is no longer useful for businesses where that kind of conversation or meeting can take place.
