Google calendar sync in Teams has suddenly stopped working

We use Google Workspace in addition to Office 365. To sync calendars we have used Microsoft 365 Mail Migration and Calendar Sync, but a week ago it stopped working. We have tryed to reinstall and revoked and granted required privliges again. However the process of setting up the sync in Teams stops with an "unexpected error".

I have the same problem.

I had the sync working for some months with a few users, but when I tried to enable syncing for other users, I get this same error: "Unexpected error occurred".

I tried to disable it for all users, reinstall the migration application, and start the process anew, but I also get the "Unexpected error occurred" message.

Now I can't sync any calendar for any user.

Sorry for not getting back on this. I gave up after trying "everything". However, a few weeks back I tried to use the csv feature for matching accounts (instead of the provided auto matching feature). This turned out to work like a charm, and all our accounts are now syncing.

Does the issue occur on both the Teams desktop client and the web version?
If you try with another administrator account, do they encounter the same issue?
Have you attempted reinstalling the Teams application and clearing its cache?

For the desktop app, please follow: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
For the web version, please clear your browser cache or use a Guest profile and try again to confirm if the issue persists: Clear cache: Menu (⋮) → Settings → Privacy and security (Chrome) / Privacy, search, and services (Edge) → Clear browsing data → select Cached images and files → Clear data.

Could you test using a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot)?
Please check if any third-party applications such as VPN or antivirus are running in the background. If so, temporarily disable them and attempt to sync your calendar again.

Based on your description, this issue requires a backend investigation that Microsoft moderators cannot perform due to access limitations. A Microsoft technical support engineer will need to review your Teams configuration, run synchronization tools to pinpoint the problem, and, if necessary, escalate the case to a higher-level team for an in-depth log analysis

To submit a new service request to Microsoft Support, you will need to:  

Go to the admin center at https://admin.cloud.microsoft. 

On the bottom right side of the page, select Help & support. 

Type a question or keyword into the text box. If you get a drop-down list, select the one closest to your question, or continue typing your question, then press Enter. 

If the results don't help, at the bottom, select Contact Support. 

Enter a description of your issue, confirm your contact number and email address, select your preferred contact method, and then select Contact me. The expected wait time is indicated in the Contact support pane. 

Please ensure to attach the following details: 

Record the error while reproducing it.

 Collect Teams support logs: After performing the steps to reproduce the issue, right-click the Teams desktop application and select Collect Support Files.

 Note the exact date and time when you reproduced the error to help the support team investigate more efficiently.

Unbelievable that a Microsoft support employee is unaware that Microsoft has paused new customer onboarding to calendar sync.

Respective notice is displayed prominently on top of the Learn article:

No amount of backend investigation is going to make difference I think.

Thank you so much for joining us and supporting another customer with their issue.

We have carefully reviewed the update stating that new customers will no longer be able to use this feature. However, as Bjorn mentioned, the feature suddenly stopped working about a week before he reached out to us. Based on our understanding, he had been using the feature without any issues prior to that time.

This indicates that he should be considered an existing customer rather than a new customer. According to the Microsoft article you shared, the feature is paused only for new customers, not for existing ones. Therefore, we believe this case may not align with the documented limitation for new customers.

We would appreciate it if you could help us further clarify or investigate this behavior.
