Using Microsoft Teams on macOS, including installation, features, and compatibility
I have the same issue with macOS Tahoe 26.3 and couldn't find any way to fix it. Any other suggestions?
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I am on Mac OSX latest version Tahoe 26.0.1, with latest version of Microsoft Teams.
My camera settings is permanently set with green screen, despite toggling On/Off to no effect. It is stuck with the selected green screen when I first used it.
Tried clearing cache - not helping
Uninstall. Reinstalled Teams. - not helping
Tried deleting all the internal folders - not helping
Open Finder, press Cmd + Shift + G, and enter these paths one by one. Delete the contents of each folder.
- ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams
- ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.teams
- ~/Library/Logs/Microsoft Teams
- ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams/Data/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams (for new Teams builds)
Camera works fine with other apps (Facetime, Whatsapp, Youtube, etc), but Microsoft Teams is stuck to having green screen.
Teams on Web browser - works fine, but this is not the solution I want. I want the Desktop app to work without green screen.
What should i do next? this is driving me crazy.

Dear @Alan Chai,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that you enabled the green screen feature in Microsoft Teams on your Mac, and now the camera remains locked with that effect, even after toggling it off. Clearing cache, reinstalling Teams, and deleting folders didn’t resolve the issue. The camera works fine in other apps and Teams Web, so the problem is specific to the desktop client.
This issue is likely due to local configuration files or preferences that remain even after uninstalling Teams. These files store green screen settings and can cause the feature to stay active.
To better assistance, could you please confirm following information:
Then I would like to confirm that you have tried steps to fully reset Teams’ video settings as detail below:
1/ Before starting: Quit Teams completely (Cmd + Q) and ensure no Teams processes are running in Activity Monitor.
2/ Remove stuck settings and caches
rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2
3/ Clear Teams credentials in Keychain
4/ Reset video effects
If the issue persists, update to the latest Teams and macOS, or test on a fresh macOS user account. If it works there, the original profile was the cause.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your cooperation.
