How do I change from the black background in Microsoft 365 to a white background

If you prefer a white background with black text in Microsoft 365 and Edge on Windows, you can change this easily using the steps below:

For Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

1. Open any Office app (e.g., Word).
2. Go to File → Account (or Office Account).
3. Under Office Theme, select White or Colorful.
   • White = full white interface.
   • Colorful = mostly white with the app’s accent color.
4. (Optional for Word) To keep your document page white, go to File → Options → General → under Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office, check “Never change the document page color.”

For Microsoft Edge Browser

1. Open Edge → click the three dots (⋯) → Settings → Appearance.
2. Under Overall appearance, choose Light.
3. If websites still appear dark, type edge://flags/#enable-force-dark in the address bar, set Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents to Disabled, and restart Edge.

After doing this, both Microsoft 365 and Edge should display with a white background and black text across your Windows system.
