Microsoft Phone Link app on Windows 11 (Message not being sent)

The app Phone Link works with my I-Phone but if I send a message through the app it comes back with an error message (message not sent, send again?). When I go to my phone it is sent. In addition I do not see any of my responses in a text chain. I only see what the other individual sent. Looked in settings but could not see any parameter that would address this. Is this just an aspect of the app?

    Hello Mike,

This is April, I'll be happy to assist you. Sorry to hear that you're having issue with Windows 11 Microsoft Phone Link. Let me help you out.

Based on the description you provided, messages sent from Phone Link show as "not sent" even though they do go through on your iPhone.

    1. When you send a message from Phone Link, does it show as "not sent" every time or only occasionally and does the message still appear on your iPhone as sent?
    2. Have you installed the Link to Windows app on your iPhone and granted all permissions including Bluetooth and notification access?

The issue happens because Apple's iOS restricts third-party apps from fully accessing the Messages database, unlike Android. Phone Link relies on Bluetooth and limited APIs to mirror notifications and messages, but it can't sync the full iMessage or SMS history. As a result, you can send messages through the app, but it doesn't receive confirmation or display sent messages.

Unfortunately, there's no settings to change this behavior right now. Microsoft has acknowledged these limitations and may enhance functionality in the future, but full message syncing and history support for iPhones is not currently available.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us again. We’re here to help, and we appreciate your continued trust in us.

    Warm Regards,

    April P.
