The scanning should work much the same in Windows 11 as it did in Windows 10. Note that you may have to install updated drivers for your printer/scanner. Go to the manufacturer's web site.

2025-08-07T01:38:00.61+00:00 Windows 11 features a modern Windows Scan app, which is easy to use and supports saving scans directly as PDFs. You can find it by searching “Scan” in the Start menu or downloading it from the Microsoft Store if it's not already installed.
Steps to scan:
- Open the Windows Scan app.
- Select your scanner from the list.
- Choose your scan settings (source, file type, color mode, resolution).
- Click Scan and then Save the file (PDF option appears when using the Flatbed source).
Scanned files are saved by default in your Pictures > Scans folder.
Alternative: Windows Fax and Scan
If you prefer the classic interface, you can enable Windows Fax and Scan via Optional Features in Settings. Note that this tool does not support PDF saving directly, but you can use the Microsoft Print to PDF feature to convert scanned images into a PDF.

2025-11-12T16:08:40.81+00:00 I found the app easily enough, but it doesn't solve the problem. It tells me "connect to scanner," but I have connected to the scanner - the problem is that the computer no longer recognises it since switching from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Any ideas?
