Hi Rocio,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of the issue you're experiencing with scheduling meetings in Microsoft Teams.
I understand how important it is to maintain continuity in your chat threads when organizing meetings. Currently, when a new meeting is scheduled, even with the same name, it creates a separate meeting thread and does not automatically appear in the original chat. This behavior is by design, and Teams does not yet support merging or continuing conversations from one meeting into another within the same chat thread.
To help maintain the flow of conversation, here are a few steps you can try:
- Use the “Meet Now” Feature in the Chat:
- If you're in a 1:1 or group chat, you can click the video icon at the top to start a “Meet Now” session. This will keep the meeting within the same chat thread.

- Reply to the Previous Meeting Message:
- You can reply to the original meeting message in the chat and paste the new meeting link there. This keeps the conversation centralized, even if the meeting itself is separate.
- Pin the New Meeting Link:
- Paste the new meeting link in the chat and pin it for easy access.
- Use Channel Meetings (if applicable):
- If you're working in a Team channel, scheduling a meeting there will keep all related conversations in one place.
- Submit feedback to Microsoft:
- Visit: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/
- Select Teams → click “+ Send feedback”.
- Describe the issue
- Submit your feedback.
We truly appreciate your feedback, and I encourage you to share your experience on the Microsoft Feedback Portal, where user suggestions help shape future updates.
Please let me know if you'd like assistance with any of the steps above or if you have any further questions.
Warm regards,
