I Installed Edge Beta on My Android Phone and Lost Data After Logging Out and Into a New Account

I installed version 137.0.3296.36 of Microsoft Edge Beta, and upon opening the app, it automatically signed in with an account from the stable (正式版) version of Edge. I then logged out of that account and tried to sign in with a new account. However, when I signed in with the new account, Edge prompted me with an option to either merge or delete data from the previous account**. I selected "delete", thinking it would only remove the old account’s data — but instead, it deleted all the bookmarks and saved passwords from my new account! Now I’ve lost important data from my new account, and I’m not sure how to recover it. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a way to restore the deleted bookmarks and passwords? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

When you switched accounts and selected the “delete” option to remove data from the previous account, the app removed the bookmarks and saved passwords synced from that account. In Microsoft Edge Beta, your data such as favorites and passwords are tied to your account’s cloud sync, so any deletion action immediately updates across your devices. Unfortunately, if the deletion has already been processed through the sync service, the data may not be recoverable through the app.

Before concluding that the data is permanently lost, please check any other device that was previously signed in with the same Microsoft account. If that device hasn’t yet synced the deletion, you may be able to retrieve your information. Additionally, review your sync settings in Edge (via Settings > Profile > Sync) to ensure that data is set to sync properly. For further guidance on managing sync in Edge,

If your data still cannot be found, it may be necessary to contact Microsoft Support with details of your account activity, as there is no built-in recovery mechanism for data removed via a sync deletion once it has been processed. We appreciate your understanding and recommend reviewing our official support documentation for more on how Edge handles account data and sync.

I hope you find the information provided helpful.
