We are using the IE site mode list deployed via GPO for many years. Up to recently the list would populate without issue but now it requires the use of the force update button. The machines have the latest Edge version 134.0.3.124.93 and have been recently rebooted. We've tested waiting 65 seconds as mentioned in other threads but that did not work. We require the list be available asap like it was working previously.

Have you closed the browser first? The 65-second rule only applies after you restart your browser. Also, could you please show us a screenshot of your Edge policy at edge://policy?

2025-03-28T13:13:59.34+00:00 @Anonymous Yes the browser was closed first. Screenshot of what exactly, we have a lot of settings set. I did include the IE mode part which I have an error due to testing another xml file. That has is not related as others not in the testing OU are seeing the above issue.

I'm having the exact same issue. I've configured an Enterprise Site List in my M365 tenant as well as an intune policy to point devices to this site list. The site list works, however each time i must navigate to edge://compat and then click "Force Update". This occurs after every reboot, no matter how long i await before launching edge. As soon as I click "Force Update" the list is pulled down and the sites on that list work as expected, and the red exclamation goes away from the diagnostics screen. I've attached a copy of my diagnostics screen.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Atiq ur rehman 0 Reputation points2025-12-13T00:25:48.57+00:00 It looks like Edge isn’t automatically pulling the Enterprise Site List even though the policy is applied. First, check edge://policy to make sure the Enterprise Site List setting is present and points to the correct XML. If it’s there, make sure the XML file is accessible from the network and that there aren’t any permission issues. Often, running gpupdate /force and restarting Edge or the PC helps, because the browser sometimes only fetches the list after a full refresh. Also, make sure you’re using the latest ADMX templates and that all related policies, like Internet Explorer integration, are configured correctly that usually fixes the auto-populate issue.
