Start or Stop the Distributed Scan Server Service

Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2

On a computer running Windows Server 2008 R2, you can start, stop, or pause the Distributed Scan Server service for a scan server.

To start or stop the Distributed Scan Server service

1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.

2. Right-click Distributed Scan Server service and do the following:

   1. Click Start to start this service.

   2. Click Stop to stop this service.

   3. Click Pause to pause this service.

   4. Click Resume to resume this service.

   5. Click Restart to restart this service.

Additional considerations

• You can also use the Print and Document Services role page in Server Manager to perform this task.

• Use Remote Desktop to perform this task from a remote server.
