A binary template is a type of custom resource template. Binary templates usually contain bitmaps. These bitmaps are the user-interface components, such as toolbar buttons and icons, that the MFC AppWizard and a custom AppWizard use when generating a project. Binary templates do not contain macros or directives and are not parsed. They are, instead, copied verbatim into the end user’s project.
